Childhood memories of Joy

I was at school with Anne in Durban from grade 1 (1971) until we matriculated in-1982 and had many many sleepovers at her home at No.43 Cherry Avenue and at the beach cottage in Zinkwazi. What I clearly remember about Joy (or Mrs Morrison as we called her!) is her incredibly happy face. She was a devoted and loving wife and Mother and had a genuine love for her family and for life. I also remember that Joy possessed the most unbelievable talent at dress design and making. She spent many hours on her Bernina sewing machine and made Anne the most fabulous outfits. Looking at the photos on this web site of Joy in her later years – I can see that she never lost her happy disposition and joyful smile. Joy was a lovely lady and deserving of the love that she received from her family. Jane Makkink Bourne
